Faux Fireplaces

Nana and I have been performing a "soft opening" of our Christmas decorations, and I put our faux fireplace in position Friday, then helped her decorate our tree (then she baked cookies- YES!).
The "fireplace" started out as one of those cardboard ones, decades ago - you know: "Tab bb into Slot bb..." Shopworn years later, I beefed up the back with some lumber (top picture) and added Foamcore "bricks", antiquing the whole unit and topping off with a rough-hewed board for a mantel.
