Another great night shot from the ISS*: Midwestern United States at night. On my globe here at home, I've placed colored pins in the identified cities in the photograph: white is Omaha, pink is Des Moines, red is Minneapolis/ST. Paul, yellow for St. Louis, purple for Chicago and green for the Appalachians. The Aurora Borealis glows over Canada.
The photograph was taken on September 29th, 2011, and is part of a series of stills used to make a "flyover" video.
