With the advent of much cooler weather last week, we were reminded that the time had come to "winterize" our three cold-blooded friends' enclosure. The two ceramic heat emitters were reinstalled - and since the emitter fixtures would now be outside the main enclosure - weatherproof protective covers (read: used utility pails) were added. For wind protection, and to help retain heat, a drop-down door was also installed.
