About 12 minutes ago, while I was in our kitchen, I heard a familiar sonic boom for the last time - Space Shuttle Atlantis was passing overhead, on a glide path for it's final landing. The computer images of NASA TV, taken moments later, show Atlantis deploying it's drag chute, and a second infrared image of the venting of the external power units.
This was Atlantis' 33rd flight, and marks the official end of the Space Shuttle program.
