I'll never be accused of being a sign painter, but when Kendalle requested a "surfboard" nameplate to hang under the seat of the bike she had on her birthday list, I gave it a shot. Fabricated of thin Lauan plywood ("door skin"), I used acrylic paints and several coats of spar varnish to finish, adding small screw eyes along the top.
