Old Dog, New Tricks - I wanted to make a "Dog Tug" (dog owners know what this is) with loops at both ends, to encourage a "certain" dog (her name rhymes with snazzy) to grab the end of the rope, rather than the middle.....or your end - ouch! Although that was probably a pipe dream, I still needed to acquire the ability to splice a rope to make end loops.
Modifying a plastic tent stake to make a parting tool, I managed to make passable splices on the very first try - a new trick!
