Heading Home

As we packed up at the completion of Saturday's baseball game, a float plane approached the ballfield from the North, then turned on final approach to land on Prairie Lake...just East of us: Richard Hensch was heading home (that's his lakeside home in the 4th picture down, red and white plane on the beach). Several Prairie Lake homes also have float planes (also called sea planes) - note a yellow one, viewed through the carport in the bottom photo.

The Rest of the Story: We've been around Mr. Hensch and one of this float planes before. In 1993, Hensch had just started a float plane ride operation on Lake Toho in Kissimmee. Attending an art show lakeside, a very young Ashley asked me if she and I could go up for a ride. It was a blustery day with a choppy lake, however, and a plane ride might have proved to be a little too thrilling...
