Wing Seeds - The Annual Flight

We wrote about Maple wing seeds, or "keys", last year, and thought that another post was surely in order: prevailing winds and the coordination of four mature maple trees in adjoining yards producing a record number of seeds this year has blanketed our yard, roof , van - everything in sight - with wing seeds. They clog the pool skimmer, get tracked in the house and...ok, I'll admit that dozens of them, twirling and floating in the breeze is rather delightful to behold (reminds me of the last scene in Charlotte's Web, with the spider hatchlings floating away in the wind....).
