Island Handicraft

My friend and neighbor, on vacation in Jamaica with his family last week, had a local artisan inscribe my name on a hand carved Rastafarian-inspired walking stick. Returning home Sunday evening, he and his youngest son presented me with this gift and related their island adventures.
Rastafarianism, with roots in Ethiopia, obtained considerable exposure through the late singer Bob Marley. My walking stick gift is studded with the symbolism of that religion - I've photographed it above adjacent to my own hiking staff for scale.
