JUST PASSING THROUGH

Uncle Roger spotted these unfamiliar birds on his feeder this week, and sent me a couple of photos taken with his iPad.
We were able to identify them as Grosbeaks, taking a break from their Spring migration North and enjoying his hospitality..

He was telling me about them, but he couldn't remember the name. Cool looking birds

We have them in TN during the spring migration, but not every year. We never saw them until a few years after we moved to Holly Lane, the kids called them penguin birds because of the males' feathers.
