Uncle Roger spotted these unfamiliar birds on his feeder this week, and sent me a couple of photos taken with his iPad. We were able to identify them as Grosbeaks, taking a break from their Spring migration North and enjoying his hospitality.. . Brownbird - May 1st
We have them in TN during the spring migration, but not every year. We never saw them until a few years after we moved to Holly Lane, the kids called them penguin birds because of the males' feathers.
