LOOKING DOWN FROM MY PERCH ON THE FAMILY TREE

These are my great-grandparents, Joseph and Sarah Clark, pictured early in their marriage and then later in life.
Great-grandad was wounded at the battle of Missionary Ridge (1863) in the Civil War, and he carried the Confederate bullet in his body until his death at 84 in 1928.
