One good idea (color ribbons on the blade guards, so that one can see which way the drone is facing), and one bad idea (travel atomizer bottle "pontoons" don't allow stable water landings*).
Still a work in progress...

How about cutting up a pool noodle for landing gear?
Noodles were one idea I was considering, Moyia
The Quad-copter has a high, wide center of gravity and weighs only 4oz, so pontoons are an interesting challenge (to say the least =:o)
