THE MILL

The South Carolina State Museum in Columbia that we visited in our travels is actually a converted cotton mill. In one exhibit, spinning machines are arranged in a room with an "Infinity Mirror"  setup complete with mill sounds (2nd photo).
At the beginning of WWII, both Grandpa and Grandma Setzer worked in the mills - he a Doffer (like the gentleman above) and she a spinner (as in the bottom photo)
