IT STARTED WITH A PLASTIC SNAKE...

Last season, we placed this plastic snake in our corner grapevine to discourage songbirds from eating the grapes.
While trimming trees in the opposite corner of the yard last week, I found our plastic snake wedged on a camphor tree limb, ten feet off the ground and over 100' from it's grapevine location.
Judging from the damage to the snake's "head", I'd say that we have inadvertently played a little joke on a local hawk...
