Pocket watches made in much of the 18th-19th centuries were wound by inserting watch keys into their cases. These keys got to be quite decorative over time, and we saw a large variety of them during our recent visit to the Cornell Fine Art Museum.

Speaking of time, the bottom low-light photo is one of the last taken with our Stereo Realist camera, which had started to malfunction: little Miss Ashley stares back at a new grandfather 28 years ago!
