Rocky Finish

We first blogged back in early November about tumbling some donated rocks from the Central Nevada High Plains, using assorted stones from other parts of the world (center pile in bottom photo) as filler material. The duel-barrel tumbler has operated for eight weeks now, and we removed the finished stones on Monday. They show a high polish in the bottom photo, as they are still wet from cleaning, but the actual results were disappointing - I may run them through the final polishing phases again.
