

A male* Monarch butterfly works a flower in our garden, as photographed there a few days ago. Monarchs East of the Rockies are making their journey South at this time, and will winter in Mexico or Florida (they don't travel over water).
* little spots on "veins" (those black lines) near the bottom of his wing, easily seen when the image is enlarged, tell us that this one's a lad, not a lassie =:o)
