The NFL owners and players finally came to an agreement yesterday (as we knew they would), and training camps will open in the next 24 hours.

In a simpler (but not necessarily better) time, images 2 and 3 show a cover letter and contract between new player Ed McGroaraty and the Green Bay Packers in 1944. What struck me here was the informality in the letter's following sentence: "We will gladly increase the amount of this contract as soon as you are playing the kind of ball deserving more money."
