Amber Waves



I photographed the Winter wheat field, above, two weeks ago just a couple of miles from David and Moyia's house. Western Tennessee is covered with both Winter wheat and feed corn crops at this time of the year. Winter wheat is used mainly in yeast bread (Spring wheat for cake flour and Durham wheat for pasta) and a large percentage of the feed corn crop is used to make Ethanol*.
*A large Ethanol plant is located in the town of Obion, just a few miles north of Dyersburg.
