Back To The Future

Paul sent us an article the other day concerning the efforts of Japanese scientists to clone a Woolly Mammoth within the next five years - a species long extinct. Now, in my January NG (second photo), I've read a short piece on efforts to reproduce the recently (400 years) extinct European Auroch.

My personal favorite candidate for resurrection would have to be - hands down - the Irish Elk. Extinct 7000+ years now, this majestic giant with his 12 foot rack must have been a wonder to behold.

The Dodo Bird? -Forget it: we ate the last one in the late 1600's (and they didn't even taste that good, according to records =:o)

.

Brownbird - lunch at Chick-fil-A yesterday - far superior to Dodos - February2nd
