Like the barnacles found on large sea turtles, this Dirt Dauber Wasp nest was attached to a lower portion of our E-series van engine. I discovered it last week while on a hunt for the van's EGR valve (don't ask =:o).
In retirement mode, the van can sometimes go 2-3 days without moving, hence the wasp's conclusion that this would be a likely place for a nest - thank goodness I can still get around, huh?
