Yesterday found me running some errands on the other side of town, and I observed a study in contrasts on Goldenrod Road - all within a two block area - that brought forth a mental image I have kept for decades: a photograph of cows in a midwest field, oblivious to the fact that also in the field was the cover of a missile silo (and that underneath this tranquil setting, ICBMs and personnel sat ready for nuclear war).
In a vastly more amusing way, those cows in front of Walmart brought that old image back. Then, two blocks south, a Wood Stork and Great Blue Heron posed next to a retention pond, and an Alligator slept on the other side. While a commercial jet made final approach to OIA, I passed one of three bicyclists taking morning jaunts down the road.
Five minutes of busy camera work - five minutes of contrasts.
