While working on remodel prep in the studio yesterday, I ran across yet another lunch bag of Nana's I had painted decades ago. If that effort seems a little elaborate for an ordinary lunch bag, bear in mind that I was working in art at the time (a ready palette), and that these lunch bags were used more than once.
The character pictured on the bag is Opus, a penguin from the comic strip Bloom County. That strip, written and drawn by Berkeley Breathed, ran from 1980 to 1989.
