The first attempt to modify a standard landing net to capture the abundance of leaves Hurricane Irma deposited in our pool - without the net frame abrading the pool surface and wearing out in hours - wasn't completely successful - the darn thing wanted to float...
Second try - using a garden hose bumper instead of a pool noodle - success!
