A TRIO OF ARCHITECTURAL ANOMALIES

We were watching a lacrosse game at Boone HS recently, when I noticed the Sun Bank building downtown - just before it's green top lit up for the night.
I remember, when it was built decades ago, the design was compared to cows flipped on their back - udders facing the sky.
The city's purchase of a giant, lighted sculpture was immediately dubbed "The Asparagus" - and the bare concrete downtown library (which we've blogged about before) appeared to be a fortress to many.
