We lived in the Crescent City in 1961-1962, when we snapped this photo of Pete Fountain's place on Bourbon Street. A short block or two away, Al Hirt had just opened his joint - clarinet and trumpet sounds filled the nights.
Al Hirt passed away in 1999 at 76, and Pete Fountain died last Saturday at 86.
