BEWARE OF...

The "Laocoon Group" sculpture, carved in marble 30-300 BC, is shown in the top photo in the Vatican Museum and Gardens, Vatican City, Italy. A bronze casting was made in the early 1900's (notice the missing arms added) and bought by John Ringling for his and Mrs. Ringling's museum in Sarasota. I shot the bottom photo with a stereo Realist 35mm camera decades ago.

In Greek mythology, Laocoon - a Troyan Priest - protested against drawing the wooden horse into the city of Troy, uttering the famous words, "Whatever it is, even when Greeks bring gifts I fear them, gifts and all"
