THE POST THAT WOULDN'T DIE

Brother Pete's blog post today shows the installation of the Street Clock at the museum of History & Industry in 2008, but that's not the end of the story: During the Christmas holidays in 2009, the clockworks for this clock were stolen. In my friend's photo (taken last week), the clock hands were set at 5:10.
Traditionally, non-running analog watches and clocks on display have their hands placed at 10:10 (pleasingly balanced, and usually shows the manufacturer's name below the "12" clearly).
So, was this clock working or not? Before I posted, I wrote MOHAI and asked them...the reply above.
