HUMAN ENCOUNTER

Austin encountered this 4ft+ rat snake in the yard, and - not realizing immediately that he was harmless - struck at him (later personally apologizing). No harm: the snake went on his way.
I photographed the snake the very next morning, and Alex and I watched him exit our yard in search of prey (well, he is a rat snake)
