CLICK! (turns over) CLICK! (turns over) CLICK!

Most young lads (and young at heart septuagenarians) know what to do to amuse themselves with click beetles =:o) The large one above - I photographed him when he wandered into my workshop this week - is called a Eyed Elater. As with many moths, butterflies and caterpillars, he shares a defensive pair of false "eyes" - his real eyes are right at the base of his antennae.
