Fate Unknown (But Presumed)

Across the fence in our neighbor's yard, their medium-size dog had treed this young cat, and was jumping and barking furiously, hoping to break the cat's concentration.
A lifetime of feline observation told me that this technique was most likely for naught  - a cat's patience far exceeds a dog's attention span.
Sure enough, all the commotion ended a short while later, and I knew the dog had given up and wandered off.
