Paddle Over...

I spotted these kayak (Kaiak back then) plans in an August, 1934 issue of Boy's Life magazine. Constructed of canvas and wood, the suggested finish included the Northwest Native American designs (upper left corner of article).
Modern kayaks, such as the one photographed last weekend on Florida's east coast, are generally made of plastic.
