As is most of the country, we're experiencing signs of an early Spring. One example is the February appearance of Spiderwort flowers throughout the yard. They're a honeybee favorite (I photographed one on a sunlit blossom yesterday morning). Spiderwort plants have one-day blooms, and look their best before the afternoon heat and sun start to degrade the flowers. In the bottom picture, they're shown in a still- shady portion of the yard.
