Laying out some old b&w negatives on the new light table yesterday, I had a preview of the future process of digitizing these old images. I used plant grow lights when constructing the table - our eyes view this light source as white - the camera's sensor see things differently (top photo). Photoshop (and many other programs) corrects this, converting the images to black and white - another step inverts the images (bottom photo).
