Spotted this cleanup crew a block from our house on the way home yesterday. How a bird so graceful in flight can be so ugly on the ground is a mystery - perhaps it's the service they perform ( to paraphrase Forrest Gump, "Ugly is as ugly does")??
Vultures (or buzzards, as we call them)- residents of Florida but still migratory- are a Federally protected species, believe it or not!
