Tech Notes

My Pentax K7 DSLR can produce HD movies (1280 x 720 default, but it can go to 1536 x 1024) at 30fps, but to date I have not experimented with this "frosting-on-the-cake" feature of the camera. Sound is recorded via an internal monaural microphone, but the camera also has a stereo microphone terminal available.
In order for a remote microphone to be used with my Olympus digital recorder, the stereo microphone on the recorder is removable. It's a match made in heaven: for movie stereo sound (and to reduce any camera noise while filming), I've rigged up an add-on for the Pentax to use during filming.
