Family camping pictured across the years, from our first tent setup, our 2nd pop-up and our present hybrid. The obvious advantage of the latter two is that they get you off the ground when camping in inclement weather. As the young gentlemen helping with the tent in the top photo grew bigger, a second tent gave everyone a little more room (as in a Florida Keys camping trip, above). During our Appalachian Trail hike, we met a couple that were spending the night at a mountain top shelter - we used a light 3-person tent instead.

Notice in the first picture how I'm careful not to step on the tent, while David and Dad are walking all over it...
