MEANWHILE, OUT IN THE GARDEN...

...the Metallic Green Bees* (aka Digger Bees) are having one of their better years in the yard, as environmental conditions seem to have been in their favor this summer - plenty of food sources, and good ground conditions for nests. You might recall that this type of bee, rather than having a hive existence, lives a solitary life, nesting underground.
