LOOKS ARE DECEIVING

As it turns out, some "Mighty Oaks" aren't all that mighty - longevity-wise. Tree surgeons were taking down the 62 year old Water Oak (far right in top picture) on Lake Marsha Drive in back of us this week, and I stopped to talk with them. Water Oaks, to my surprise, have a life span of only 50+ years or so, and this one was starting to rot and weep water from the trunk.
